    Joshua is a lawyer, master of public administration, and government affairs specialist with more than 14 years of experience. He has worked within state and federal government and has extensively advocated for clients before all three branches of government. Joshua has represented a myriad of clients throughout his time as a lawyer and government affairs specialist, including Fortune 100 companies, major U.S. municipalities, and foreign governments.

    As a partner at Cogent Law Group, Joshua brings his extensive knowledge to the firm’s Cannabis Practice. Given his professional background, Joshua works with companies in Washington, D.C. and Maryland to ensure compliance with an ever-changing landscape of state laws. He also advises startup cannabis companies to help guide them through the regulatory and legal complexities that often hinder small businesses.


    In his role as a government affairs specialist, Joshua strategically interacts with Capitol Hill in an effort to protect the nascent cannabis industry from federal intrusion. Joshua has a track record of engaging both sides of the aisle to find common ground in a time of ever-increasing partisan politics.


    Joshua holds a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of American, Columbus School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. He also obtained a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Jacksonville University.
